The fourth and latest generation of the C-Class distinguishes itself in a rather unusual way. The 230 and 300 base models are presented with a classic grill surmounted by the Mercedes three-pointed star, whereas the other versions, all with the Sport package, display the star in the centre of the grill. The 2008 C-Class is offered as a sedan only, in C230 and C300 base, C230 and C300 Sport, and C350 trim lines. The Sport package is a no-charge option on the C300, costs $800 on the C230 and is standard on the C350. The new C-Class is longer (9.4 cm) and wider (4.3 cm), and rides on a longer wheelbase (4.6 cm). Its structure is 16% more torsion resistant than before
