This manual is intended to explain to Toyota’s suppliers what are Toyota’s options in IMDS. This means it is not a complete training manual for the International Material Data System. Those options need to be used by Toyota’s Tier 1 suppliers but also by Tier 2, Tier 3, … So, Toyota strongly recommend the Tier 1 suppliers to pass the information to Tier 2 suppliers and so on. If Tier 2 suppliers did not follow Toyota’s requirements, Tier 1 suppliers will have to correct the data before submitting the datasheets to Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC, ID number 10674)
